A big day for my student, learning to recognize that the middle ledger notes aren’t entirely new, they’re just notes she knows very well, reframed. It’s like variations on notes. For homeschool with Clara, we are exploring the globe one region and country at a time. We watch documentaries, nature shows and listen to the traditional music. Clara has a list of prompts as she researches the country. But our favourite part is making the national dishes. This week: exploring the polar regions and Norway. We made Fårikål (Norwegian Lamb and Cabbage Stew), and Tilslørte Bondepiker (with apples, whipped cream and brown sugar-coated croutons).
