A big day for my student, learning to recognize that the middle ledger notes aren’t entirely new, they’re just notes she knows very well, reframed. It’s like variations on notes. Once a student is able to see that a RH space F helps her remember that LH ledger F is still a space note, it becomes so much easier to use what you know to help learn what you don’t yet know. #music #piano #pianotheory #musictheory #pianolessons #pianoteacher

For homeschool with Clara, we are exploring the globe one region and country at a time. We watch documentaries, nature shows and listen to the traditional music. Clara has a list of prompts as she researches the country. But our favourite part is making the national dishes. This week: exploring the polar regions and Norway. We made Fårikål (Norwegian Lamb and Cabbage Stew), and Tilslørte Bondepiker (with apples, whipped cream and brown sugar-coated croutons).
